Full list of players who have withdrawn from Taipei Open 2025

Reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen had withdrawn from the event.

Denmark’s top badminton star, Viktor Axelsen, withdrew from the Taipei Open 2025. The event began on May 6 at the Taipei Arena in Taipei, Taiwan.

Viktor Axelsen recently announced he is taking a break from badminton following a shock first-round loss in the All England Open. He cited physical struggles and the need for a longer rest, stating his body needs it. India’s Sathish Kumar Karunakaran has withdrawn from the event as well.

The Singaporean women’s singles star Yeo Jia Min leads women’s withdrawals, while the significant Thailand women’s doubles’ new pairing Sapsiree Taerattanachai and Benyapa Aimsaard, withdraw. It was supposed to be their first tournament together.

Despite the withdrawals, the tournament features stars such as home player Chou Tien Chen, who has won four titles, and defending champion Lee Chun Yi. Former world champions Loh Kean Yew and Srikanth Kidambi also participated in the Super 300 tournament.
