Reigning World Champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn is the top seed.
The badminton world’s focus shifts to Thailand this week as the Thailand Masters 2025 gets underway on January 28. After the Indonesia Masters, it will be the first Super 300 tournament of the year 2025. The tournament has a total prize pool of US$240,000.
Home favourite Kunlavut Vitidsarn is the top seed. He is the reigning World Champion and the Paris Olympic silver medallist. The world number #5 recently won the Indonesia Masters, defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the finals.
With the absence of two-time Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen and world number #1 Shi Yuqi, the 23-year-old Thai is a heavy favourite in the Thailand Masters.
In the women’s section, Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong is the top seed. She recently faced An Se-young in the finals of the India Open. On her way to the finals, the player from Thailand defeated world number #4 from China, Han Yue.
