The total prize pool of Thailand Open 2025 is US$475,000.

The BWF Thailand Open 2025 is set to take place from May 13 to 18 at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament will begin with qualification and first-round matches on the opening two days, with the other rounds commencing on May 15.

As a BWF Super 500 event, the Thailand Open 2025 has seen several top-tier players withdraw, creating a valuable opportunity for emerging talents to showcase their skills and make a mark on the international stage.

Among the marquee names competing is Thailand’s top star and Paris Olympics silver medallist Kunlavut Vitidsarn, who enters as the number one seed. He is joined by second seed Anders Antonsen, veteran World No #7 Chou Tien-chen, and Japan’s rising sensation Tomoka Miyazaki, ranked World No #8, who recently claimed the Taipei Open title.

In the women’s singles, home favourite Pornpawee Chochuwong leads the seedings. She faces a challenging field featuring Olympic champion Chen Yufei, Japan’s Tomoka Miyazaki, and Thailand’s own Ratchanok Intanon.

The men’s doubles draw is led by top seeds Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia, and second seeds Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia. In the women’s doubles, Malaysia’s Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan and Indonesia’s Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi are the top two seeded pairs.

The mixed doubles field includes strong Chinese pairs—Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin and Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping.

India’s contingent will be led by former All England finalist Lakshya Sen in the men’s singles, alongside Priyanshu Rajawat. In women’s singles, four Indian players will be in action. In women’s doubles, third seeds Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly will be looking to deliver a standout performance for India. However, there will be no Indian pair in the mixed doubles main draw.

Notably, several of India’s top shuttlers, including Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, and Srikanth Kidambi, will not be participating in this year’s tournament, leaving India without some of its biggest names.
