India and Korea are the defending champions of the Thomas and Uber Cup respectively.

The Thomas and Uber Cup 2024 will be the 33rd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 30th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women’s national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation. The tournament will be played at Chengdu, China from April 28 to May 5.

When will the draw take place?

The Thomas and Uber Cup draws will take place on 22nd March.

Where will the draw take place?

BWF has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The draw ceremony is set to take place at the same location.

Format

The teams are allocated to four pots based on the World Team Rankings. Pot 1 contains the top seed (which are assigned to position A1), the second seed (which are assigned to position D1) and the next two best teams. Pot 2 contains the next best four teams, Pot 3 contains the ninth to 12th seeds, and Pot 4 for the 13th to 16th seeds.

The programme would commence from 2:30 PM IST. The draws for Uber Cup will take place at 3:05 PM IST and the draws for Thomas Cup will be announced at 3:25 PM IST.
