India will play their first match against Canada on April 27.
The Uber Cup 2024, scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 5, is gearing up for the stage. Defending champions South Korea has fielded a full-fledged team to safeguard their title, while the hosts, China, are sending a team full of 2024 Badminton Asia Championships medalists.
Meanwhile, India has sent a young squad to the Uber Cup 2024. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has opted out of the tournament along with the likes of Tressa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand & Tanisha Crasto/Ashwini Ponnappa, the top two pairs in the country.
On Japan’s front, former World Junior Champion Tomoka Miyazaki, who has made strides in the senior circuit, has made it into the squad along with BWF World No. 4 Akane Yamaguchi. Thailand similarly has sent their A team for the event. The tournament will be hosted in Chengdu, China, and it will follow a group-stage format, where the top two teams will advance into the quarterfinals.
With the start of the quarterfinals, the knockout rounds will begin, where the ties will be contested in a best-of-five match set up. Hence, without further delay, let’s take a look at the confirmed squad list for the 2024 Uber Cup participating teams.
