FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024: Schedule, fixtures, results, India squad, live streaming details

The competition will serve as a qualifier for next year’s FIBA U19 World Cup.
Amman, Jordan, is set to host the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 from September 2-9. This marks the first time Jordan will host the prestigious youth basketball tournament, now in its 27th edition.
The competition, formerly known as the FIBA U18 Asian Championship, will take place at the Prince Hamza Sport Hall and the Arena Complex in Amman. It will serve as a qualifier for the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland.
Top young players from across Asia and Oceania will compete in this biennial event, which showcases the talent of national teams affiliated with the International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) Asia Zone.
China has historically dominated the tournament, winning 11 titles. Other past champions include the Philippines (6 titles), South Korea (4), Iran (3), and Japan and Australia (1 each).
South Korea, the reigning champions, secured their fourth title at the 2022 event in Tehran, Iran. The tournament was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia.
When and where will FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 take place?
The 27th edition of the competition will take place in Amman from 02-09 September. This marks the First time that the tournament will be held in the capital of Jordan.

There are total of 16 nations including hosts Jordan in this year Championship. The list of teams are — Jordan (Host), Australia, Kazakhstan, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, South Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand, India, Qatar, Kuwait, Philippines, Iran and Lebanon.

India’s best performance in FIBA U18 Asia Cup
Indian Basketball team have participated in 21 editions of Continental Championship so far. Their best ever performance came in second edition in 1972, where young hoopsters secured fourth Spot. Their next best performance came in their debut season in 1970 when they secured fifth spot.
