India vs Qatar Highlights, FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers
The India vs Qatar match will mark Scott Flemming’s official return as India’s head coach.
The Indian men’s basketball team will resume their campaign at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers on November 22 (Friday), when they face Qatar at home. Apart from the Qatar match, India will also face Kazakhstan on Monday, with both matches set to be played at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. India are currently at the bottom of their group after the first round of matches.
India’s match against Qatar on Friday will also se the return of international basketball action to Chennai after 15 long years. The last time the city hosted a match of such stature was in 2009 when the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup took place.
At the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, the Indian men’s basketball ranked 76th in the World, are in Group E alongside Iran (#28), Kazakhstan (#69) and Qatar (#101). India lost both of their matches in the opening round in February. While they started with a 50-63 loss against Kazakhstan, they were beaten 56-83 by Iran, leaving the team at the bottom of the group.
In Window 2 matches, they host Qatar and Kazakhstan at home on November 22 and 25 respectively.

Like India, Qatar have also lost both of their first two matches at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers. They were beaten 74-76 by Iran in the opening fixture while they went 68-73 to Kazakhstan in their second match. But Qatar will be confident of a favourable result against India.
