Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are reportedly set to earn £75 million ($99 million) each when they finally meet in Cardiff on December 11.
The long-awaited heavyweight clash is expected to generate a staggering £150 million ($198 million) purse, making it the richest fight in British boxing history, as per promoter Frank Warren.
The former champions will meet at the Principality Stadium, six years after agreeing to a two-fight deal in 2021. At the time, both men held major heavyweight titles, but the planned series fell apart because Fury was contractually obligated to complete his trilogy with Deontay Wilder.
Despite the years of delay, the bout has now been lined up with backing from Saudi conglomerate Sela and streaming giant Netflix. The report says there will be no A-side in the purse split, with both fighters receiving an equal share.
The payday is expected to surpass the biggest purses of their respective careers. According to SunSport, both Fury and Joshua have previously earned career-high purses of around £65 million ($85 million).
Ring Magazine also reported that the WBA world title will be at stake, giving both Fury and Joshua a chance to claim three-time world champion status.

The December bout comes after both fighters have endured difficult recent years, with age and Oleksandr Usyk’s rise reshaping the heavyweight division.
Fury, 38, and Joshua, 36, are no longer at the peak of their careers, but their long-awaited meeting remains a major commercial attraction. The fight could also prove to be the final appearance for either man.
Neither fighter needs the money, with both having accumulated significant wealth and assets throughout their careers. The report notes that, barring serious financial mismanagement, their families could benefit from that wealth for generations.
Joshua reportedly could have earned an even larger payday if he had agreed to stage the fight at Madison Square Garden in New York, following requests from Turki Alalshikh and Netflix. However, he insisted the bout take place in the United Kingdom, in line with his contract.
“British boxing gave me everything, it changed my life,” Joshua told SunSport. “I was going down the wrong path until I found Sean Murphy and Johnny Oliver at Finchley ABC.”
He also credited Team GB in Sheffield and the coaches who supported him, adding: “Not the money – because there was no money.”
Joshua made his position clear: “It was the UK or nothing.”
