Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul during the ceremonial weigh-ins

The highly anticipated boxing match between legendary boxer Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is just hours away. The clash was earlier scheduled for July 20 but was postponed for Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, U.SA.

The reason for the postponement of the fight was Tyson’s injury before the fight. The boxing legend required medical attention and was not cleared to even train for the fight.

Apart from the main event, the card features a 10-round bout between two of boxing’s best women, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, for the Undisputed Junior Welterweight Championship.

We are now just moments away from the clash and the situation has already gotten chaotic as Tyson slapped Paul during the ceremonial weigh-ins. The physical altercation happened during the face-off between the two Heavyweights.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul is an officially sanctioned bout

Ahead of the fight tonight at the AT&T Stadium, let us take a look at the rules for this intriguing bout.

The heavyweight showdown will be fought over eight two-minute rounds. Unlike the regular 10-ounce gloves the two fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves to cushion the impact, this will also decrease the potential of a knockout.

While many states have banned betting on the main event and are treating it as an exhibition, the fight is in fact a real fight that is sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

In contrast to Tyson’s exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, this fight is a sanctioned professional bout that will affect the official records of both fighters. However, the decision has sparked huge concerns due to the significant 30-plus-year age difference between the two men.

Tyson will make his in-ring return after 19 years, as he has not fought a professional fight since 2005 when he fought against Kevin McBride. Paul on the other hand is a young 27-year-old social media star who transitioned into boxing and has a record of 10-1.

The card also marks the return of former Middleweight World Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. who will fight the former UFC fighter from Liverpool, Darren Till, who is making his boxing debut, in a six-round Light Heavyweight fight.
