The champion vs contender clash headlines a stacked Zuffa Boxing card presented alongside Ring Magazine on Saturday, September 12.
Benn, son of two-weight world champion Nigel Benn, arrives unbeaten and on the back of two big statement wins, an avenged loss to Chris Eubank Jr. and a victory over former world champion Regis Prograis. He’s chasing something his father never quite managed: a world title won on American soil.
Both fighters share an aggressive, high-output style, which has made for a heated build-up. Garcia goes in as the bookmakers’ favourite on class and experience, though there’s been fight-week chatter about how comfortably Benn, who hasn’t fought at 147lbs since 2022, will make weight.
The card lands on Mexican Independence Day weekend and forms one half of a Paramount+ combat-sports doubleheader, following Noche UFC earlier in the day.
Co-promoted by Zuffa Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, the night also features a genuine world-title co-main event as Jai Opetaia puts his cruiserweight titles on the line against Noel Mikaelian.
