Commonwealth Games day 7 live: Sudhir bags historic gold in para powerlifting; Sreeshankar clinches silver in Long Jump

Indian athletes continues their excellent performance at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Athletes will look to continue this super form on day 7 too. National record holder Murali Sreeshankar will be in action today along with Indian Boxing team and Para Powerlifting team. Five medals are on stake today and Boxing team can secure four more medals for the country at the multi-sports event.
The contingent delivered a mixed-bag performance on Tuesday at Commonwealth Games where it had to settle for a silver in Badminton, but won gold in Lawn Bowls and Table Tennis. Picking up on their performance, the athletes were impressive on Wednesday too. Lovepreet and Gurdeep Singh added to the medals for India in weightlifting. Saurav Ghosal and Tejaswin Shankar clinched historic bronze in Squash and Athletics respectively, while Tulika Maan bagged silver in Judo.
