India to contest for five medals on July 28

3:20 pm: Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live blog for Day 5 (July 28) of Commonwealth Games 2026. Please wait for the blog to load!

After a superb Day 4 (July 27), where India clinched six medals—including a historic para-athletics gold—the contingent will hope to add more to its medal tally on Tuesday (July 28) at Commonwealth Games 2026. India currently sit at eighth position in the overall medal standings, with 10 medals to its name.

On Day 5, Gulveer Singh and Pooja Singh will be the main attraction, with the duo in athletics action in the evening session. While Pooja will aim for a podium finish in the women’s high jump final, Gulveer will eye gold in men’s 10,000m final.

There are also Nirupama Devi and Harjinder Kaur in the weightlifting finals. The duo will hope to continue the weightlifting contingent’s run of medals in Glasgow. So far, the contingent has won five medals in as many events, including a historic gold by Mirabai Chanu.
