Leading the charge on the canvas, Asian Games bronze medalist Preeti Pawar delivered a clinical 5-0 unanimous-decision victory over Northern Ireland’s Nicole Clyde in the women’s 54 kg quarterfinals to book her semi-final spot and assure India of a boxing medal.

Joining her in the guaranteed medal ranks, reigning Asian champion Priya Ghanghas produced a hard-fought 4-1 split decision over her Scottish opponent in the women’s 60 kg division.

As we transition to Wednesday, July 29 (Day 6), the Indian campaign accelerates into an explosive double-header of preliminary track events and high-stakes knockout bouts.

At Scotstoun Stadium, Asian shot put champion Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Singh Gill open India’s field campaign in the Men’s Shot Put Qualifying Round, while Animesh Kujur takes to the track in the Men’s 200m Round 1 heats. Later in the night, hurdlers Yashas Palaksha and Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan line up in Round 1 of the Men’s 400m Hurdles.

In the pool at Tollcross, veteran Sajan Prakash and Aneesh S. Gowda contest the Men’s 200m Freestyle heats, alongside Suyash Jadhav and Chaitanya Vishwas Kulkarni in the Men’s 50m Freestyle S7 preliminary heats.
