Another happening day from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. India dominated in boxing today where all the Indian boxers (5/5) qualified for the semifinals, and have confirmed at least bronze medal. However, they will definitely clinch higher ones. Other than that, the big news came from athletics and para athletics. Dilip Mahadu Gavit and Mohammad Basil M, bagged gold and silver medal, respectively, in Men's 100m T47. Whereas, Murali Sreeshankar bagged silver medal in Men's Long Jump. Three more medals to add in India's medal tally at the end of day 6, which takes the total to 15 medals (3 Gold, 9 Silver, 3 Bronze). India will be aiming for more medals tomorrow as well. Having already breached the double-figures mark in total medal count, India will enter its biggest day yet at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on July 29 (Day 6), with the contingent set to contest in at least seven medal events.
Starting the day with Sanjana in the women’s 77kg weightlifting final, Wednesday will also see more established athletes like Murali Sreeshankar and Parul Chaudhary in action in the men’s long jump and women’s 3000m steeplechase final, respectively.

There is also Manpreet Kaur in the women’s shot put final while several boxers will be in quarter-final action. Sakshi Chaudhary, Jasmine Lamboria, Arundhati Chaudhary, Sachin Siwach, Anush Yadav and Narender Berwal will all take the ring hoping to confirm medals by reaching the semi-finals.
India are already assured of four medals in boxing, with Lovlina Borgohain, Jadumani Singh, Preeti Pawar and Priya Ghanghas reaching the final four stage.
Para-athletes Devender Kumar and Sagar Thayat will eye medals in men’s discus throw F44 event while Mohammed Basil and Dilip Gavit will be in action in the men’s 100m T47 final.
In swimming, Aryna Nehra will compete in the men’s 1500m freestyle final while Sajan Prakash-Aneesh Gowda will hope to first reach the final and then go for medals in men’s 200m freestyle.
