T20 cricket is an immensely exciting cricket format that has attracted many new fans to the sport. It’s thrilling and keeps viewers captivated on their television screens. The T20 format contributed to cricket being more commercial and popular, which aided in the game’s globalization.

Reaching a 200-plus score in T20 cricket has become commonplace. In ODI cricket, 200-plus totals were formerly defendable. However, as pitches have flattened and limits have shrunk, the shortest format has begun to see more targets of 200+ scores. Teams have successfully chased down 200+ scores T20 international cricket as well. Let us look at the teams with the most 200+ totals in T20 internationals.

Here are the top 10 teams who have scored most 200+ totals in T20I cricket:

10. Austria – 12 times:

Austria, who made their T20 international debut in 2019, have made 12 200+ totals in the shortest format of the game so far. Surprisingly, they never lost a game when they scored 200+ runs in an innings. Their highest total in T20Is is 245/7, which they scored against Luxemborg in July 2025.

9. Zimbabwe – 13 times:

Zimbabwe have scored 200+ 13 times in T20I cricket. In these clashes, they won 11 and lost only two. They also hold the record of the highest team total in T20I cricket. 344/4 by Zimbabwe against Gambia in October 2024 in Nairobi is the highest team total in T20I cricket.

8. Sri Lanka – 13 times:

The champions of T20 World Cup 2014, Sri Lankan cricket team has breached the 200-run barrier 13 times in T20 internationals so far. Their highest score is 260/6, which came against Kenya at the 2007 T20 World Cup and was the highest team total for a long time. Sri Lanka have won nine times after scoring 200 or more in T20Is, but have also lost four matches.

7. Pakistan – 16 times:

Pakistan have made 16 scores of 200 or more and have won 15 out of those 16 matches in T20Is. Their highest score is 232/6, which came against England in 2021. They have also chased down scores of 200 or more four times including a 10-wicket win as well.

6. West Indies – 24 times:

Two-time T20 World Champions West Indies have scored 200 or more 24 times in this format of the game. They have won 12 games and lost 12 times. West Indies’ highest score in T20Is is 258/5, which came against South Africa. While chasing 200+ totals, West Indies have won twice.

5. England – 24 times:

England, the two-time T20 World Cup winners, have scored 200 or more in T20Is 24 times. They boast of a record of 18 wins and six losses in T20Is while scoring 200+ in a match. England’s highest T20I score is 304/2, which came against South Africa in 2025. They have also successfully chased totals of 220 or more thrice in T20Is.

4. New Zealand – 25 times:

New Zealand, who played the inaugural T20I match in 2005, have scored 25 totals of 200 or more. They won 19 times and lost five times. New Zealand’s highest T20I score is 254/5, which came against Scotland in July, 2022. New Zealand’s losses after scoring 200+ in a T20I came once each against India and South Africa and twice against Australia.

2. Australia – 25 times

The T20 World Cup 2021 champions, Australia, have scored 200+ in T20 Internationals 25 times. They went on to win 20 out of those 25 games and lost five, while tied one match. Their highest score is 263/3, which came against Sri Lanka in Pallekele in 2016. Australia have also chased down a total of 240 plus successfully against New Zealand. Their only tied match after scoring 200 or more came against New Zealand in 2010.

2. South Africa – 25 times

South Africa have scored 200 or more in T20 Internationals 25 times. They won 16 games and lost nine times. South Africa’s highest score in T20Is is 259/4, came against West Indies in March 2023, which is also the highest successful chase amongst the full-member teams.

1. India – 42 times:

India, the two-time T20 World Cup champions, have scored 200 or more in a match in T20Is astonishingly 42 times. They have lost only five matches out of those and won 37 times after scoring 200 or more in T20Is. India’s highest score is 297/6, which came against Bangladesh in 2024. And their highest successful chase is 211. India also almost chased down 246 runs, losing by just one run to West Indies in 2016.
