4 Indian youngsters who are doing well in IPL 2024 but didn't get selected for ICC T20 World Cup 2024

India will kick-off their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 campaign on June 5.
The Indian selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar announced the Indian squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday, April 30. The announced squad had some big names making their comeback to the side. Selectors have mainly gone with experienced players to play under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, while Hardik Pandya will be his deputy.
Some players got the benefit of good performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube had done well in the ongoing season. As a result, they have been picked in the squad, while the likes of Rinku Singh and Shubman Gill are in reserves and senior pro KL Rahul has been left out entirely. However, some uncapped Indian stars who have done pretty well in the IPL 2024 have been totally ignored.
4 Indian youngsters who are doing well in IPL 2024 but didn’t get selected for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
1. Abhishek Sharma

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma has the best strike rate in the ongoing IPL 2024. The southpaw has been unstoppable this season and has given flying starts in almost every game for SRH. He has scored 303 runs in nine innings at an average of 33.66 and an incredible strike rate of 214.89, with the second-most sixes (27). But despite his numbers, he couldn’t make it to the India squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
2. Riyan Parag

After struggling in the previous IPL seasons, Riyan Parag has let his bat do the talking in the IPL 2024. He has scored runs in almost every match and is one of the reasons for RR’s success. Parag has scored 332 runs in 8 innings at an average of 55.33 and a strike rate of 159.61 with three half-centuries in the ongoing season. He will certainly be on target of the selectors after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
3. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan made his ODI debut on the South African tour and started with two consecutive half-centuries. He carried on that performance in the IPL 2024 as well and is among the top run-scorers this season. Sudharsan has scored 418 runs in 10 innings at an average of 46.44 and a strike rate of 135.71. He was unfortunate to miss the squad.
4. Mayank Yadav

One uncapped star that caught the attention of the world was Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav, who won consecutive Man of the Match awards in his first two IPL matches. He picked up six wickets in two games at an economy rate of around 6. Mayank bowled over 150 kmph consistently and even touched 157 kmph, which is the fastest ball of the IPL 2024. However, he suffered an injury, which forced him to miss some games.
However, he has been declared fit now. But despite that, he didn’t get a spot in the India squad for T20 World Cup 2024 as expected by some critics and fans. Nevertheless, he is definitely a future prospect for India.
