Indian squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has finally been announced. The selection committee picked 15 superstars who will represent India at the biggest cricket tournament in the world. India will be hosting the World Cup and will look to win it for the third time in their history.
There are eight players out of 15 who also played in the last edition held in England. It will be the fourth World Cup for Virat Kohli, which is the most for this current Indian team. So we will talk here about the eight Indian cricketers who played in the 2019 World Cup and are also part of the coming World Cup in 2023 in India.
8 Indian cricketers who were part of 2019 World Cup included in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad:
1. Rohit Sharma :

Rohit Sharma will be leading Indian team for the first time in a World Cup event. He was the top performer in the last edition for India. In fact, he scored the most runs in the tournament, including a record of five centuries. Rohit scored 648 runs in nine innings at 81 with a strike rate of 98.33, including five centuries and one half-century in the 2019 edition. This time, he will look to take the World Cup trophy home as captain.
2. Virat Kohli :

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is the most experienced player in the current team. He was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team and captained India in the 2019 edition that made it to the semi-finals. Virat will be back, but this time as a player. But his goal will be to lead India to victory in the World Cup in 2023. Virat made 443 runs in nine games, including five half-centuries in the last edition.
3. KL Rahul :

KL Rahul was also a regular player in the 2019 World Cup. Though his inclusion for the 2023 event was doubtful because of injury, he is fully fit and ready to go. Rahul will be keeping wickets and batting in the middle-order. In the 2019 World Cup, he scored 361 runs in nine games at 45.12, including one century and two half-centuries with a best of 111.
4. Hardik Pandya :

Hardik Pandya also played in the last edition under Virat Kohli, and this time he will be the vice-captain of the team in World Cup 2023. The all-rounder has become a key player in India's white-ball squad and is among the leading players. In 2019, he played all nine games and scored 226 runs at a strike rate of 112.43. Hardik also picked up 10 wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 5.65.
5. Ravindra Jadeja :

Ravindra Jadeja also played in the last World Cup edition in England. Though he played only two games in the tournament, he will be playing in his third successive World Cup. As compared to the last edition, he has now become a vital player for the team. In two games in 2019, he batted once against New Zealand and scored 77 runs. Jadeja also took two wickets with the ball.
6. Kuldeep Yadav :

Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav will also be playing in his second successive World Cup. He was part of the Indian team last time but couldn't make much impact. In seven games, he took six wickets at a decent economy rate of 5.02. But this time, the hopes will be high because he will be bowling in Indian conditions that help the spinners.
7. Jasprit Bumrah :

India's ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, returned from injury and is now a part of India's World Cup 2023 squad. Bumrah has become the leader of the Indian bowling attack and is very important for the team. He was India's highest wicket-taker in the 2019 edition. Bumrah took 18 wickets in nine games at an economy rate of 4.41.
8. Mohammed Shami :

Mohammed Shami was also part of the Indian team in the last edition in England. He only played four games but made a huge impact. In those four matches, he took 14 wickets at an excellent average of 13.78 and a best of 5/69. Shami will be sharing the new ball in the coming tournament, and India's chances will also depend on how he bowls in the World Cup 2023.
