SRH captain Aiden Markram asks batsmen to "Find a way to bat better" following loss to MI
Mumbai Indians defeated Aiden Markram-led SRH by 14 runs in the 25th match of IPL 2023 to gain 2 points.
It looks like the word ‘Pressure’ is not in the Tendulkar family’s dictionary. Playing his second game for Mumbai Indians, Tendulkar Junior has delivered the third consecutive win of the IPL 2023. Arjun came in to defend 20 runs in his last over. With his proper execution of wide yorkers against SRH tail, he helped MI register a hat-trick of wins this season. MI had a poor start to the season with back to back losses, but they are now looking balanced and dominant in their game. MI won the game against SRH by 14 runs. Cameron Green had a wonderful game with the bat and scored 64 runs in 40 balls. Along with him, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma also built partnerships to give SRH a tough total of 193 runs to chase.
Aiden Markram sends a clear message to SRH batsmen
Sunrisers Hyderabad had a poor start to the chase and since they could not gather momentum in the chase. Apart from Mayank Agarwal (48) and Heinrich Klassen (36), nobody raised his hand to finish the job. Captain Aiden Markram was also disappointed by the batting performance, He said, “Great effort to take it so deep but We need to find a way to bat better”. MI batters got wonderful conditions and wicket to bat on. Talking about the wicket Markram said, “The pitch stayed pretty much the same through the match. Slightly was on the slower side but overall a good wicket”. Hyderabad bowlers had a poor outing.
Rohit Sharma was aware about Arjun's confidence
Along with the batters, MI bowlers were also bowling in the tight lines. Apart from Klassen, every SRH found it tough to score runs. Jason Behrendorff and Riley Meredith picked up 2 wickets each. Piyush Chawla also picked up 2 wickets. Captain Rohit was happy with MI’s third consecutive win. Talking about the bowlers he said, “It is important for us to settle the bowlers in, We have got a couple of guys who have not played IPL before. It is important to back them”. Talking about Arjun Tendukar’s last over he said, “I have seen him grow. He understands what he wants to do and he is quite confident he can do it”. Arjun conceded 18 runs in his 2.5 over picking up his first ever IPL wicket as Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Cameron Green wants more experience in death over bowling
All-rounder Cameron Green was awarded Player of the Match for his overall performance with both bat and ball. Green played a magnificent knock of 64 runs smashing 6 fours and 2 sixes and also picked a wicket in his 4 overs spell. Green was happy about MI's performance in the last three games, He said, “I think the first couple of games were a bit of a learning curve for myself and for the team. Just winning the game is the greatest satisfaction”. Green also said that his bowling in final overs is still a work in progress and more experience will definitely make it better.
