Another angle has emerged to settle the debate about Sanju Samson's involvement in Rohit Sharma's wicket.

It was Rohit Sharma’s birthday on Sunday and fans were expecting a big inning from the Mumbai Indians captain. Expectations turned into disappointment when Rohit Sharma was cleaned up by Sandeep Sharma in the second over of the inning. He had to go back on just 3 runs. Apart from Tim David’s magical finish at the end, fans were also in discussion about Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. Eyebrows were raised when Rohit got out cheaply at Wankhede Stadium. Rohit stayed at the crease for just 5 balls and got out in a bizarre fashion.

Chasing 201, Rohit Sharma was expected to provide Mumbai with a solid start with Ishan Kishan. Royals' pacer Sandeep Sharma in his first overs deceived Rohit with his knuckleball. Rohit, while trying to make room and position himself to play a lofted cover drive was completely puzzled by Sandeep’s pace and length. In between the action, He had to leave his shot halfway and the ball had disturbed Rohit’s off stump. Fans after his wicket got into a debate. Few of them claimed that the ball did touch the stump but the bails came out only when Sanju’s gloves touched on them. They present one front camera angle as evidence.

Was Sanju Samson involved in Rohit Sharma's dismissal?

As Rohit Sharma or any umpire did not review the decision fans saw only one angle of the entire sequence. Now another angle of this sequence has emerged where it can be seen that Sanju’s gloves are way behind when bails were dislodged from the stumps. Samson was standing a few meters away from the stumps and in no way involved in Rohit’s dismissal. It was Rohit who was deceived by Sandeep’s knuckleball and had to go back early in the second over of the chase. Even after a poor start, Mumbai Indians middle order took responsibility and helped MI chase 213 runs against RR.

Tim David with his 14-ball cameo stole the show from young Yashaswi Jaiswal (124) at the end. David smashed 45 runs in 14 balls to chase down 213 runs for MI. Cameron Green with his 44 runs and Suryakumar Yadav with his 55 runs knock also helped MI in winning the game. Earlier in the game, Royals opener Yashaswi Jaiswal smashed a century. Jaiswal scored 124 runs in 62 balls. Jaiswal's innings powered Rajasthan Royals to put up 212 on the board.
