Arshdeep Singh took four wickets while giving away only nine runs against USA.

After showing composure against Pakistan in the last over of the previous game, Arshdeep Singh carried on the momentum and confidence against the USA to dismantle the co-hosts of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by returning with stunning bowling figures of 4/9.

On a day when Jasprit Bumrah failed to take a wicket, Arshdeep took four. His brilliant bowling performance helped India restrict USA to 110/8 in their quota of 20 overs in their clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first as the Men In Blue sought a third win in three games to seal their spot in the Super 8 round.

Arshdeep gave India their first breakthrough on the first ball of the match by trapping opener Shayan Jahangir lbw for a golden duck. On the last ball of the same over, the left-arm pacer dismissed the in-form batsman Andries Gous, bouncing the batter out and having him caught at mid-off.

Arshdeep then returned later in the innings to take two more wickets, those of Nitish Kumar and Harmeet Singh. Both of these wickets also came via short ball; Nitish was caught at deep square leg and Harmeet by wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.
