[Watch] Arshdeep Singh knocks over Travis Head with a beautiful inswinger to dismiss him for golden duck

Arshdeep Singh got rid of Travis Head in very first ball of the second innings.

Arshdeep Singh gave Punjab Kings (PBKS) a huge advantage in their ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he dismissed opener Travis Head on the first ball of their chase.

PBKS, who have been eliminated from the race of the IPL 2024 playoffs, are facing off against SRH, who need to win this match to ensure a finish in the top two of the tournament going into the playoffs.

Punjab Kings are being led by Jitesh Sharma in this match as both Shikhar Dhawan and Sam Curran are missing from action. Dhawan has been out since April due to a shoulder injury, while Curran has returned home to prepare for England’s T20I series against Pakistan.

Jitesh Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first, to keep the SRH batters quiet. Atharva Taide (47) and Prabhsimran Singh (71) added 97 runs for the first wicket. Prabhsimran carried on the good work after Taide fell to T Natarajan.

He then added 54 runs with Rilee Russouw for the second wicket, before he was dismissed for 71 by Vijaykanth Viyaskanth. PBKS managed to post a very good total of 214/5 as they received some death overs push by captain Jitesh, who made 32* in 15 balls.

For SRH, T Natarajan picked 2/33, while Vijayakanth Viyaskanth and Pat Cummins took one wicket each.

Travis Head gets out for a golden duck thanks to a beauty of delivery by Arshdeep Singh

SRH opened with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who have been terrorizing bowling attacks in this IPL 2024. Head has made 533 runs in 11 games before this match with a strike rate of 201.13 and has one century and four fifties to his name. Head also hit 61 fours and 31 sixes in the IPL 2024.

While SRH hoped for yet another fiery start from Travis Head, PBKS bowler Arshdeep Singh had other ideas. He bowled a beauty of a delivery first up, which hit the off-stump of Head. The ball swung in the air into Head, and pitched on length and left him.

Head played for the inwards movement, but the ball beat the edge of his bat and struck the off stump, giving PBKS their first wicket on the first ball of SRH innings.
