IPL 2025: Ashish Nehra likely to part ways with Gujarat Titans, Yuvraj Singh in consideration for head coach role - Reports

Gujarat Titans won the IPL in 2022 under Ashish Nehra’s coaching.
In a significant development, Gujarat Titans (GT) head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki might leave the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 edition.
The Gujarat-based franchise made their IPL debut in the 2022 edition. In their maiden IPL season, Gujarat won the prestigious trophy. The franchise then played their second consecutive final in the 2023 season, where they suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad.
Before IPL 2024, GT captain Hardik Pandya was traded from GT to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal and Titans named young sensation Shubman Gill as their new skipper.
Sadly, Gill couldn’t replicate Hardik’s success in IPL 2024. Under Shubman’s captaincy, Gujarat failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since their debut. In 14 league stage matches, GT won five games and ended their campaign at eighth position.
Yuvraj Singh might become the new head coach of Gujarat Titans
Former Indian pacer Nehra has been the head coach of the Gujarat franchise since the IPL 2022 season. Under him, the Titans reached two consecutive finals.
According to the latest report in News18, GT head coach Ashish Nehra would part ways with the franchise and his former teammate and legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh might become the new head coach of GT ahead of the 2025 edition. The report further added that the final decision is yet to be made.
The News 18 report further said that Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki might also part ways and there could be multiple changes in GT’s coaching staff ahead of the 2025 edition.
“Lot of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalised right now but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans,” says a source close to developments.
