Australia were dominant on day four of the AUS vs ENG Adelaide test and are just four wickets away from win on day five.

Australia are inching closer towards victory in the third Test of the Ashes 2025-26 against the England Cricket Team at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Not only this, but the win would also seal the series for them as it would be their third straight win.

Australia resumed day four at 271 for four with a lead of 356. Travis Head (170) played a solid hand along with Alex Carey (72), extending their partnership to 162. But England made a solid comeback and wrapped up the tail pretty quickly with Josh Tongue taking four wickets.

Chasing the target of 435, England were jolted early with Ben Duckett (4) and Ollie Pope (17) getting out early. However, after that, Zak Crawley (85) and Joe Root (39) then brought their side back in the game with their 78-run stand.

Although Root couldn’t go big, Crawley carried on and then had another 68-run stand with Harry Brook (30). Just when it seemed, England were making a comeback, Nathan Lyon tilted the game in favour of Australia as he removed both the set batters along with captain Ben Stokes in quick succession of time, leaving England at 194/6.

Jamie Smith (2*)  and Will Jacks (11*) then took the onus onto themselves and ensured that England doesn’t lose wickets anymore. At Stumps on day five, England were 207 for six, needing 228 runs to win.
