Wicket uss ke khaate me jaana chaiye: Avesh Khan lauds Ravi Bishnoi for spectacular catch during third T20I vs Zimbabwe

Off Avesh Khan’s bowling, Ravi Bishnoi took a catch at point which dismissed Brian Bennett.

Indian right-arm speedster Avesh Khan heaped praise on his teammate Ravi Bishnoi, who took a stunning catch in the field during the third T20I match between the Indian cricket team and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on July 10.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, skipper Shubman Gill (66 runs off 49 balls) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (29-ball 48) helped the Men in Blue post 182/4 in 20 overs in the third T20I against Zimbabwe.

While chasing 183 runs, Zimbabwe’s Dion Myers played a fighting unbeaten knock of 65 runs, whereas wicket-keeper batter Clive Madande scored a 26-ball 37, as the hosts managed to reach 159/6 in 20 overs. India won the match by 23 runs.

With this victory, Shubman Gill-led India took a 2-1 lead against Sikanadar Raza’s Zimbabwe in the ongoing five-match T20I series.

The incident happened during Zimbabwe’s innings, when Indian speedster Avesh Khan came into the attack to bowl the fourth over of the match.

Off the first ball of the fourth over, right-handed batter Brian Bennett, who was on strike, struck a shortish delivery outside off-stump towards Bishnoi, who was standing at point.

It was looking like the ball would race away for a boundary, but Bishnoi timed his jump to perfection and grabbed the ball with both hands before falling down on the ground. Bishnoi’s catch stunned everyone as it came out of nowhere.

In the latest video posted by the BCCI on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), speedster Avesh praised his teammate Bishnoi for putting in the effort and taking the stunning catch.

“We were shocked. He is a good fielder and works on his fielding. I got his wicket, but it should go in his tally (Wicket mera hai khaate me jaana chaiye),” Avesh said.
