Babar Azam reveals how coach Gary Kirsten operates Pakistan Cricket Team while working in the IPL

Pakistan recently roped in Gary Kirsten as their white-ball head coach for two years.
Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam has expressed his thoughts on how the newly appointed white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten works with the Pakistan Cricket Team while working in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
The former South African player Kirsten is currently a part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) franchise in the IPL 2024. He is travelling alongside the team as their batting coach. Last month, Gary was roped in as Pakistan’s white-ball head coach on a two-year contract.
The 56-year-old has previously served as head coach of the Indian Cricket Team (2008–11) and South Africa (2011–13). One of the biggest success Kirsten got in his coaching career was when he led India to famous ODI World Cup victory in 2011 which which ended the Men in Blue’s 28-year ICC ODI title drought.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has said that Kirsten was in touch with the Pakistan Cricket Team daily and was receiving all the reports about what the side was doing. Babar revealed that the 56-year-old also shared his plans.
“He (Kirsten) shares his plans with us, discussions are happening with coaches about our planning, and we update him on net practice plans, like how the bowling practice went today,” Babar told in a media conference in Lahore on Monday.
The Men in Green limited-overs captain praised that Kirsten is a very experienced coach, and his practices will surely help all the Pakistan players. Babar further added that Gary is taking a lot of interest in the planning for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and also making various strategies with the management.
“He (Kirsten) is a very experienced coach, and his presence should be beneficial for us all. He is already taking a lot of interest in the planning for the World Cup and discussing strategy with the team management,” he added.
