Three batsmen have scored 600+ runs in three consecutive IPL seasons.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed 18 seasons since its inception in 2008. Over the years, many batsmen showcased wonderful performances in the tournament. The highest run-scorer in every IPL season wins the Orange Cap.

If we look at Orange Cap winners over the years in IPL, they have touched the mark of 600+ runs in most of the seasons. Except for the 2009 and 2015 seasons, the highest run-scorer in every IPL edition piled up more than 600 runs in his kitty.

Virat Kohli slammed 973 runs in IPL 2016. It is the most runs ever scored by a batsman in a single edition of the tournament. The next batsmen for this record are Shubman Gill (890) in IPL 2023 and Jos Buttler (863) in IPL 2022.

Reaching the mark of 600 runs in a single edition is a huge achievement for any batsman. However, a few batters also crossed 600 runs in the league on more than one occasion. However, only three batters have achieved the feat for three straight years. On that note, let’s look at the list of batsmen to score 600+ runs in three consecutive IPL seasons.

1. Chris Gayle (2011, 2012, 2013)

Chris Gayle is the first batsman on this list. The former West Indies batsman piled up 600+ runs in three editions- 2011, 2012, and 2013. He was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during these editions.

The left-handed batsman slammed 608 runs in the 2011 edition and won the Orange Cap. He made a stunning comeback in the 2012 edition with 733 runs to once again become the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

In the 2013 edition, he mustered 708 runs but ended as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

2. KL Rahul (2020, 2021, 2022)

KL Rahul achieved the feat from the 2020 to 2022 editions. In the 2020 season, Rahul mustered 670 runs in 14 games for Punjab Kings (PBKS). He also ended as the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

He could not win the Orange Cap in the 2021 edition, but he scored 626 runs in 13 matches. He ended as the third-highest run-getter in the tournament.

In the 2022 edition, Rahul joined the newly formed team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as captain. With 616 runs in 15 matches, he finished the season as the second-highest run-scorer.

3. Virat Kohli (2023, 2024, 2025)

Virat Kohli has become the third batsman to register 600+ runs in three consecutive seasons after his spectacular batting show in the ongoing IPL 2025. In the 2023 edition, the former RCB skipper slammed 639 runs in 14 games to finish as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

In 2024, he hit 741 runs in 15 games and won the Orange Cap for the second time in IPL history. In the ongoing IPL 2025, the RCB opener has reached 602 runs after the conclusion of the league stage.
