Perth Scorchers defeated Sydney Thunder by 7 wickets in BBL 2023-24 league round game.
It was an easy chase for Perth Scorchers against Sydney Thunder in BBL 2023-24 match number 30. Perth Scorchers defeated Sydney Thunder by 7 wickets to get two crucial points in the table. Defending champions Perth Scorchers dominated the entire game at Sydney Showground Stadium. Scorchers opener Zack Crawley scored a fifty to help his side chase down target of 138 runs set by Sydney. Batters had a tough outing on Monday as the Showground Stadium wicket was on slower side.
Perth Scorchers won the toss and invited Sydney Thunders to bat first. Sydney did get off to a decent start with opener Alex Hales scoring 72 runs in 55 balls. As the game progressed, batting became a little tougher and Perth’s left-arm spin duo Ashton Agar (2/6) and Cooper Connolly (3/25) bowled a magnificent spell in the middle overs. Sydney had a massive collapse and they could only manage to score 137 runs in 20 overs. Josh Inglis finished the game with a cameo of 26 runs.
