Shubman Gill suffered a neck injury in the Kolkata test against South Africa.
India‘s ODI and test captain Shubman Gill is set to be back in action as he has completed his recovery from a neck injury. Shubman Gill to join the T20I squad

Shubman Gill was included in the T20I squad for the five T20Is against South Africa, but his availability was subject to fitness, and he had to undergo all rehabilitation and skill-training protocols required for Return To Play (RTP). After ticking all the fitness parameters, Shubman is set to be back in action in T20Is.
“Shubman Gill has successfully completed his rehabilitation at CoE and has met the requisite criteria to be declared fit for all formats of the game,” communicated CoE to the team management.
Shubman Gill was recently appointed as India’s vice captain in the shortest format of the game. The team management handed him the opening slot in the Asia Cup. His return is important for India’s preparations for ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
