Mitchell Starc rattled Gill’s stumps with a sensational delivery.

Australian left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc has left a significant mark on the 2nd Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test match in Adelaide.

After recording his career-best test innings bowling figures of 6/48 during India’s first innings, which bundled out the visitors for 180, the tall left-armer blasted through Shubman Gill’s stumps in India’s second innings with a ‘banana swing’ delivery.

It has been a battle of fast bowlers in the Adelaide test and Starc is currently leading it.

He was sensational on day 1. But on day 2, he found it a bit to get the line right of the pink ball under lights as it moved considerably in the air.

However, he got the swing, line and length perfect to Gill to knock over his middle-stump. Bowled from over the wicket, Starc sent down a thunderous in-swinging delivery that moved significantly into Gill.

But with Starc’s speed, Gill couldn’t cover for the inward movement and left a huge gap between his pad and bat, allowing the ball to burst through it and smash the middle stump out of the ground.
