BGT 2024-25: [Watch] Virat Kohli shushes Gabba crowd after taking Marnus Labuschagne's catch

Virat Kohli seem to be responding to the Gabba crowd for booing Mohammed Siraj.

Apart from the cricket, the BGT 2024-25 was lit up by the fiery exchange between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj in the Adelaide test. While the duo made peace by the end of the match, the Australian media and fans continued to go after the Indian pacer.

Siraj has been booed by the Australian crowd on both days so far of the ongoing third test at the Gabba. Virat Kohli, the senior India cricketer and Siraj’s close friend, responded to the crowd by shushing them after taking the catch of Marnus Labuschagne.

After only 13.2 overs were possible on day 1 of the third test due to rain, day 2 got underway on its scheduled time.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both Australian openers, Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, before Nitish Kumar Reddy scalped Labuschagne’s key wicket. The Australia No. 3 scored 12 runs off 55 balls without a single boundary.

Labuschagne was clearly under the pump today, batting once again into a shell. So the moment he saw a full ball outside the off-stump from Reddy, he unfurled a cover drive shot. However, he edged it to Virat Kohli at second slip.

Kohli took a sharp catch to his right. In his celebration, Kohli shushed the crowd by putting his finger on his lips. It seems that it was Kohli’s reaction to the Gabba crowd’s booing of Siraj.

Meanwhile, India have been handed a huge blow on day 2 at the Gabba as Mohammed Siraj left the field while holding his hamstring. India would be hoping it’s not a serious injury otherwise they would be reduced to only two specialist pacers for the rest of the Gabba test.
