BPL 2024: Fortune Barishal squad, schedule, timings, when and where to watch

Fortune Barishal qualified for playoffs in BPL 2023 edition.

With so many local legends playing for Fortune Barishal, they will be expected to lift the BPL title in the upcoming season. Bangladesh Premier League is set to begin on 19th January with Durdanto Dhaka playing against Comilla Victorians. While Fortune Barishal will be playing their opening game against Rangpur Riders on 20th January at Sher-e-Bangla National stadium in Dhaka.

Fortune Barishal will be led by opening batter Tamim Iqbal. Many local Bangladesh legends are part of Barishal camp. Along with Tamim, wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim and middle-order batter Mahmudullah are part of Fortune Barishal. They also signed a deal with South African middle-order batter David Miller in their side. Barishal looks a dominant batting unit in BPL season 10.

Fortune Barishal finished fourth in the BPL season nine. Out of 12 league games, Fortune Barishal won seven games. Rangpur Riders defeated Barishal in the eliminator game played in Mirpur. Barishal have played three BPL finals but they failed to win any title. Fortune Barishal qualified for BPL finals in 2012, 2015 and 2022. In 2022, they lost the finals to Comilla Victorians by just one run.

Barishal’s journey in the BPL began as Barishal Burners under ALIF SS Sports Holding Pvt. Ltd. Later on Bangladesh’s leading Fortune group purchased the ownership of Barishal and changed the name to Fortune Barishal. They were also called Barishal Bulls. They made their debut in Bangladesh Premier League in inaugural season played in 2012. Chris Gayle represented Barishal for 8 BPL seasons.
