Cameron Green used to smack me everywhere back in schools: MI all-rounder Tim David recalls old days
Mumbai Indians all-rounder Tim David recalls school days along with teammate Cameron Green
Mumbai Indians are having a complete turnaround of their luck in the IPL 2023. They have got a hat-trick of wins in the current season after losing the first two games. Mumbai are finally looking settled with their playing XI. Since the Mega Auction 2022, they have not performed as expected from a five time champion side in the Indian Premier League. Two Australians have turned the table for MI in the IPL 2023. Cameron Green has revolutionized Mumbai’s top order batting as well as bowling with his superb performance. While Tim David with his fielding and finishing job has been magnificent for the team this season.
'Green used to smack me everywhere'
After the victory, both of them had a chat with each other. In a video posted on IPL’s official Twitter handle both of these guys have shown a good friendship in and out of the field. Tim David told everyone that both of them had gone to the same school in Australia. David said, “Some of you might not know this, but Greeny and I went to the same school back in Australia. He was a few years younger than me, just a cheeky little bugger. He was not as tall as he is now, He used to smack me everywhere, I just could not get him out”. David was also very proud of Cameron Green’s performance.
Cameron Green was a gamechanger against SRH
Coming in at Number 3, Green smacked 64 runs in 40 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also bowled the penultimate over of the SRH inning conceding just 4 runs when SRH required 24 runs in 2 overs. It was tail batting, yet he was wonderful with his line and pace. When Tim David asked Green about how he felt when he got a fifty, Green said, “Scoring a fifty felt great, obviously kind of want to get that monkey off your back a little, so nice to get that first one out of the way”. Talking about the celebrations Green said, “Just came out, just wanted to give back to the boys to show emotions''.
T20 specialist David has also been performing well for Mumbai Indians. MI have Dewald Brewis and Tristan Stubbs still waiting for their chances, David has not given any opportunity to the management to force a change in the finishing line. David has been contributing consistently in fielding as well. Mumbai will take on Punjab Kings in their next game at Wankhede Stadium on 22nd April.
