Champions Trophy 2025: Lahore to host IND vs PAK clash - Reports

Lahore is scheduled to host seven games, including the IND vs PAK clash, at the Champions Trophy 2025.

At the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India and Pakistan contested a thrilling match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9. The Men in Blue clinched the historic encounter by six runs in their second group match.

Cricket fans will get to witness the IND vs PAK rivalry when the two nations face each other at the Champions Trophy 2025. The next ICC event is scheduled to be played in Pakistan. According to reports, India will play this high-voltage match against the hosts in Lahore.

Lahore to host India vs Pakistan match at Champions Trophy 2025

According to a recent report by Cricbuzz, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already sent a draft schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for next year’s tournament.

The report further added that India and Pakistan are slated to meet in the final league game of the Champions Trophy 2025. The upcoming ICC event will feature eight teams and will likely be played between February 19 and March 9.

The report claimed that Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi have been finalized as the three venues for the 15-match competition, with Lahore set to host the IND vs PAK clash. Notably, the Indian team’s travel to Pakistan depends on approval from the Government of India.

The Cricbuzz report added that at this stage, neither PCB nor ICC are talking about a hybrid structure. All eyes will be on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Government of India.

Lahore to host seven matches at Champions Trophy 2025

The report further stated that Lahore will host seven games, five games will be played in Rawalpindi and three in Karachi.

Karachi will host the first match of the tournament on February 19, 2025. The two semi-finals will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi. As per the proposed program, the Champions Trophy final will be played on March 9 in Lahore.

The report added that if the Indian cricket team reaches the semi-finals, then they will play in Lahore, where they are scheduled to play all their league games.
