The ENG vs IND 2nd T20I will take place on July 16 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
Indian Cricket Team made a brilliant start to the three-match ODI series against England, winning the first encounter by six wickets. Shubman Gill & Co. chased down a 259-run target in the clash pretty easily
Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel slammed unbeaten half-centuries to propel the team to a pleasing victory. Patel, who also clinched a four-wicket haul, was adjudged Player of the Match.
Despite the victory, the Men in Blue are expected to make a few changes in the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI, which will take place on July 16 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
Gill revealed in the pre-match conference and at the toss of the 1st ODI that they will try different combinations in the lead up to the ODI World Cup 2027 as they want to give opportunities to deserving players.
Therefore, a few changes are expected in India’s playing XI in the 2nd ODI in Cardiff and below are three of them.
3 changes India can go ahead with in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI
3. Ishan Kishan in place of KL Rahul

India have two wicket-keepers in their squad for the ENG vs IND ODI series. In the opening game, KL Rahul was preferred in the playing XI; however, he got out for just one run. In the second clash, Kishan might get an opportunity as the wicket-keeper batsman.
The left-handed batter impressed in the previous ODI series against Afghanistan last month, scoring a quick-fire century (125) in the 2nd game in Lucknow.
2. Arshdeep Singh in place of Gurnoor Brar

After making his international debut in June and impressing in his maiden ODI series against Afghanistan, Gurnoor Brar was added to the playing XI in the 1st ODI against England. The right-arm pacer dismantled both England openers to provide a solid start to India.
However, he faced issue with his right leg during the fag end of the 1st innings, and left the field. Brar was a little expensive at an economy of 6.80 in his nine overs.
In the second game, India might give opportunity to Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer gave a decent performance in ODI series against Afghanistan in June, bagging five wickets across two matches.
1. Prince Yadav in place of Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna took two wickets in his 10-over spell in the first ODI, dismissing key batters like Jos Buttler and Sam Curran. Prince Yadav, who made his ODI debut in the Afghanistan series last month, was benched in the clash.
In the second game, Prince could be given a chance ahead of Krishna. Last month, Prince featured in two ODIs against Afghanistan and got three wickets.
Notably, he also replaced Prasidh in the 2nd T20I against Ireland last month, after the latter remained wicketless and too expensive in the opening game.
