India has some of the iconic cricket stadiums

India has always been known for its cricketing culture and over the years we have seen some of the global superstars coming out of India. To find a place in the 15-member Indian squad is as difficult as anything as every second kid in India is seen holding a bat.

Cricket is treated as a religion in India and the country holds a rich history in sport. India has been host to some of the iconic games over the years and the venues here hold equal importance in the success of the Indian side.

There are quite a few iconic stadiums in India, which have hosted some of the best games over the years. The likes of Eden Gardens, Wankhede Stadium, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and Arun Jaitley Stadium are some of the popular cricket venues in India, which have witnessed some of the thrilling games against top teams worldwide.

Almost every state and UT in India have about one or two stadiums but not all these venues get the opportunity to host test matches. So far, only 29 venues in India have got the privilege to host test matches and the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati will become the 30th venue to host a test when India take on South Africa in second test from 22nd November 2025.
