Cricket South Africa annual awards: Who won which award? See full list here

Marco Jansen and Laura Wolvaardt headline the Cricket South Africa annual awards.

South Africa men’s cricketers Marco Jansen, Reeza Hendricks, and Quinton de Kock were among the big winners as the Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced annual awards.

This time, the CSA awards recognized achievements from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024. This means the performances at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June and the West Indies test and T20I series will be considered only at next year’s grand event.

The annual CSA awards were held in September this time around rather than in May because CSA’s sponsors requires all nationally contracted players to be present at the ceremony, and that wasn’t possible in May as the players were busy with the Indian Premier League.

Quinton de Kock and Marco Jansen win prestigious awards

The star all-rounder Jansen was awarded with Men’s Player of the Year for his all-round performances in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India and also impressive outing in the Boxing Day test with the bat as well as the ball against India in December 2023.

Wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock, who retired from One-Day internationals after the last year’s ODI World Cup, won the ODI player of the year award. He had scored 594 runs at the marquee event last year.

Laura Wolvaardt wins the Women’s Player of the Year award

Among the women’s cricketers, captain Laura Wolvaardt had a night to remember as she won a total of five prizes, including the Women’s Player of the Year award.

Additionally, Masaba Klaas was honoured with the Makhaya Ntini Power of Cricket Award. The Makhaya Ntini Award recognizes players who have made their cricket careers through tough circumstances. Klaas became the first female cricketer to win the prestigious award.

All-rounder Marizanne Kapp’s sensational in-swinger, which dismissed Beth Mooney in South Africa’s first-ever ODI win over Australia in February 2024 was judged the best ball in the season.
