MI vs CSK clash of IPL 2026 will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are preparing for an important match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The team is trying to make a place for them in the playoffs. They have shown mixed form this season. Some players have stepped up at key moments. The bowling unit has also looked better in recent matches.

CSK are currently on 8th position in IPL 2026 points table with four points. Their campaign has been affected by multiple injuries. They are awaiting the comeback of their star player MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, their young prodigy Ayush Mhatre has also been sidelined due to an injury.

CSK had brought Mukesh Choudhary into the XI after Khaleel Ahmed was ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury. The team had retained Mukesh for Rs 30 lakh. His return gave balance to the CSK pace attack.

In a heartbreaking development ahead of their crucial IPL 2026 clash, CSK confirmed that pacer Mukesh Choudhary has lost his mother. The franchise shared an emotional message, expressing solidarity with the player and his family during this difficult time.

“The CSK family mourns the passing of Mukesh Choudhary’s mother. We stand with Mukesh and his family, keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” CSK posted on X.

Mukesh’s mother, Prem Devi, passed away in Mumbai after a long illness. She was being treated at Tata Hospital. According to Dainik Bhaskar, after CSK’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mukesh rushed to his hometown in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. He performed the last rites with his elder brother.

Mukesh Choudhary recently made a strong return to the playing XI. The left-arm pacer got his chance against SRH. He impressed with the ball right away. He picked up wickets of Travis Head and Ishan Kishan.

Mukesh is expected to miss the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. His absence is a big setback for CSK. Reports suggest he may take a short break before returning to the squad.

Meanwhile, as per One India, MS Dhoni has been in touch with Mukesh during this tough time. He also visited his mother in the hospital earlier. Dhoni himself is yet to play this season due to a calf injury, though he recently trained with the team.

With Mukesh unavailable, Gurjapneet Singh is likely to replace him in the playing XI. CSK will now look to adjust their bowling plans for this upcoming big game.
