David Miller scored 21 runs against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final on June 29.

Veteran South African batter David Miller has quashed all recent rumours claiming his retirement from T20 internationals. The left-handed batter was part of the Proteas ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad, which lost the grand finale against the Indian cricket team by seven runs in Bridgetown on June 29.

The Aiden Markram-led South Africa had a dream run in the 2024 T20 World Cup. They won all of their matches until the final, where they suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of India.

In the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, Miller played nine games and scored 169 runs at an average of 28.16. The middle-order batter also smashed one half-century in the tournament.

The best is yet to come: David Miller ends rumors surrounding his T20I retirement

After South Africa’s heartbreaking loss in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against India, Miller posted some Instagram stories about the loss and how he was feeling. Following that, few social media channels misinterpreted his messages and claimed that the 35-year-old has announced his retirement from the shortest format.

Reacting to all the reports, David Miller took it to his Instagram and uploaded a new story, where he quashed all the rumors regarding his retirement from T20Is.

“Contrary to reports, I have not retired from T20 international cricket. I will continue to be available for the Proteas. The best is yet to come,” Miller wrote in his Instagram story.
