David Warner scored a half-century against Oman in Australia’s opening match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Australia opener David Warner, inadvertently, gave the fans and commentators a hilarious moment during the AUS vs OMN encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Mitchell Marsh’s team got their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign underway with a 39-run victory over Oman on Wednesday night in Barbados.

Warner, who was coming off a disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, started his T20 World Cup with a half-century, although his strike rate of only 109 was questionable. The left-handed opener scored 56 runs in 51 balls on a decent pitch; he hit six fours and only one six in his knock.

After he got out, Warner accidentally started walking toward the Oman dressing room as he forgot the way to Australia’s dressing room!

He was dismissed in the 19th over. His body and mind might have gotten exhausted while batting through almost the entire innings. Perhaps that’s why he made this funny blunder.

As he crossed the boundary line, the opener took the stairs of the Oman dressing room instead of the Australian change room. He was almost halfway through the Oman change room when someone called him and told him that he was walking into the opposition team’s dressing room.

The commentators were left in splits and so were the fans by this hilarious mistake from the veteran Aussie opener.

Talking about the match, Australia posted 164 on the board. Amid Warner’s half-century, the impetus to Australia’s innings was provided by Marcus Stoinis’ knock of 67* runs off 36 balls. The right-hander whacked two fours and six sixes in his entertaining innings. Stoinis later snapped three wickets as well and bagged the Man of the Match award.
