Devdutt Padikkal got out on a three-ball duck on his debut match for LSG against RR in IPL 2024.

Left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal‘s much-anticipated debut for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ended on a horrible note as he was dismissed for a duck by Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Trent Boult in fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on March 24.

The incident happened during the third over of the LSG innings when Padikkal, who was traded from RR just ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction, was the second batter after opener Quinton de Kock to be sent packing by ace pacer Boult.

Royals left-arm pacer Boult on the previous delivery bowled a sharp bouncer which struck on Padikkal’s helmet. On the very next ball, Boult produced a peach of a delivery that nipped back sharply to castle the middle-stump of LSG batter, who was aiming to pull, and soon after his dismissal, the whole LSG dugout was shell-shocked.

Here is the video:

Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 82 runs helped RR post 193 runs against LSG

RR Skipper Sanju Samson’s classic innings of 82* and his 93-run partnership with hard hitter Riyan Parag for the third wicket helped 2008 IPL champions post 193/4 in 20 overs against LSG on Sunday. However, the Samson-Parag partnership was marked by three dropped chances by the Giants’ fielders. Mohsin Khan dropped Parag at 21 and Samson at 36.
