Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will be played in round-robin format from September 5 to 22.

The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will mark the beginning of the Indian cricket team domestic season. This year’s prestigious domestic tournament will be crucial for several Indian players, who will aim to secure their spots in the national side for the upcoming home test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand later this year.

The competition will witness several top Indian players like KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and many more, who will aim to secure their test spots in the national side. This year’s Duleep Trophy will be played from September 5 to September 22 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and Bengaluru.

Previously, the domestic tournament used to be played in zonal format, with players across the nation divided into six zonal teams. However, this year’s Duleep Trophy will see a new format, where the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to discontinue the zonal format.

The BCCI has opted for a four-team format, with teams named A, B, C, and D. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format without any knockout matches. This means that the team which has most points at the end of all matches, will win the title.
