Duleep Trophy 2024: Most runs, most wickets after round 1

India B and India C won their respective matches in the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024.

Musheer Khan’s brilliant 181-run knock off 373 deliveries helped India B win their opening clash of the Duleep Trophy 2024 tournament against India A in Bengaluru.

Earlier in the first innings, India B were once struggling at 94-7, but Musheer Khan’s terrific knock along with Navdeep Saini’s half-century helped them reach above the 300-run mark. India A speedster Akash Deep took four wickets. In reply, Shubman Gill’s India A were bundled out for 231 runs. India B pacers Mukesh Kumar and Saini bagged three wickets apiece.

In India B’s second innings, Sarfaraz Khan (46) and wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant (61) played crucial hands to set a target of 275 runs for India A. Akash Deep took a five-wicket haul for India A.

While chasing 275, KL Rahul (57) and Akash Deep (43) played fighting innings but their side eventually fell short by 76 runs. India B seamer Yash Dayal took three wickets in the second innings.

What happened during the India C vs India D clash in Anantapur?

India D made 164 runs in the first innings as Axar Patel played a classy knock of 86 runs. In reply, India C were bundled out for 168 runs. Baba Indrajith scored 72.

In the second innings of India D, skipper Shreyas Iyer (54) and Devdutt Padikkal (56) hit valuable fifties, which helped them set a target of 233 runs. While chasing, India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (46), Aryan Juyal (47) and Rajat Patidar (44) helped their side get over the line by four wickets.

After the end of the first two matches, India B batter Musheer Khan is at the top of the runs chart with 181 runs.

India D all-rounder Axar Patel is second with 114 run. With 94 runs, India A’s KL Rahul is third. India C batter Baba Indrajith is placed fourth with 79 runs. India B’s Navdeep Saini is placed fifth with 69 runs.
