MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings defeated GT by 5 wickets in the IPL 2023 final to lift their 5th trophy.

Yuzvendra Chahal needs no introduction to the game of cricket. He is the leading spinner for India in the white-ball format and recently became the highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League. The recently concluded 16th edition of the league saw the Chennai Super Kings make history. MS Dhoni led his team to their fifth IPL title, becoming the joint-most successful team with five IPL titles.

They registered a five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium to lift the title. It was an emotional moment for every Indian fan to watch MS Dhoni lift the title. With this, Dhoni also became the only captain in the IPL to lead a team to 10 IPL finals out of the 14 seasons they have played. Chahal lauded the CSK skipper and said that it was pretty emotional to see Dhoni win the championship.

"Everyone wanted MS Dhoni to win"- Yuzvendra Chahal on CSK winning the IPL 2023

Chahal is very active on social media. During his time off the game, he will keep doing various stuff on social media to entertain his crowd. India will be playing in the upcoming final of the World Test Championship against Australia in England. Thus, in this free time, Chahal had an exclusive interview with News18 CricketNext, where he talked about his IPL performance, MS Dhoni guiding CSK to their fifth IPL title, and a few other things.

He said that it was one of his dreams to become the IPL's highest wicket-taker but was disappointed by the way the Rajasthan Royals were eliminated. Chahal also praised the RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who ended up winning the "Emerging Player of the Season." However, when asked about his bond with MS Dhoni and feelings about CSK winning the title, his reply was gold. Chahal said, "Definitely, it was an emotional moment. Not only me, but whole India wanted him to win. And it’s a good thing and I’m really happy to see that. He is a legend and the way he is, if CSK would have defeated us in the final, I would have been equally happy for him."

Furthermore, the veteran leg-spinner also spoke about India missing Rishabh Pant in the WTC final. He said that Pant was an "X" factor for the team in red-ball cricket and will definitely be missed, but the management need to back KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan, who are also good players and can fill the role for the team.
