Heather Knight will captain England at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE.
England have named their 15-member squad for October’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Heather Knight will continue in her duty as skipper of the side.
Freya Kemp, Bess Heath and Danielle Gibson have been selected for their first women’s T20 World Cup, but pacer Lauren Filer has been omitted.
Before the marquee tournament, England will face Ireland for three ODIs and two T20Is, where they will be led by Kate Cross.
The 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will run from October 3 to 20 in Dubai and Sharjah. The competition was initially slated to be played in Bangladesh, but it was moved to the UAE due to the ongoing political and civil unrest in Bangladesh.
Teams have been divided into two groups of five each. The top two sides will progress to the semi-finals.
England have been placed in Group B along with South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland.
Captain Heather Knight said in a released statement: “World Cups are always special events to be involved in as a player and I’m really excited by the squad we have selected to take over to the UAE. It’s an honour to lead the team into another World Cup. We’re looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
The ECB confirmed that the squad will go to Abu Dhabi for a training camp from September 13 to 24 before they play in the warm-up games.

Heather Knight (capt), Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Bess Heath, Amy Jones, Freya Kemp, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Linsey Smith, Danni Wyatt
