Who will captain England test team in absence of Ben Stokes?

Ben Stokes suffered a hamstring injury while playing at The Hundred.

The England cricket team received a massive blow as test captain Ben Stokes was ruled out of the remainder of the summer due to a hamstring injury.

Stokes will miss the upcoming three-match test series against Sri Lanka, which will start on August 21. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not announced any replacement for Stokes for the upcoming home test series against the Island Nation.

The 33-year-old suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the Northern Superchargers in the ongoing The Hundred tournament on August 11, Sunday. Stokes was spotted on crutches after the match.

The all-rounder is aiming to return to action on England’s test tour of Pakistan in October. The three-match test series against Pakistan will be played in Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.

Who will captain England test team ?

In the absence of Ben Stokes, star batter Ollie Pope will lead England’s test team during the upcoming three-match test series against Sri Lanka. The series will be played from August 21 to September 10.

The first test will be hosted in Manchester. The second match will be played at the iconic Lord’s. The third test of the series will be played at the Kennington Oval.
