A video has gone viral in which Virat Kohli reacted to being called “chokli” by fans in Colombo. Here is the truth about the video.

Ahead of the SL vs IND ODI series in Colombo, a video went viral in which fans could be heard trolling Virat Kohli with “chokli” chants from outside the dressing room. In the video, Kohli turned back and reacted as well. However, it has come to light now that the video is fake and edited.

India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, clinched the T20I series 3-0, white-washing the hosts in Pallekele. The Rohit Sharma-led unit will now take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting on August 2. All three ODIs will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in action after a month-long rest following the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. This series is vital in India’s preparation for the Champions Trophy 2024.

Meanwhile, Kohli is eyeing a huge record in the upcoming ODI series. The 35-year-old is only 152 runs away from the landmark of 14,000 runs in ODI cricket. Whenever he achieves this record, Kohli will become only the third batsman in ODI history to get to his milestone. Kohli will become fastest to 14000 ODI runs even if he takes 69 innings from now.

At the moment, he has 13848 runs under his belt at an average of 58. Only Sachin Tendulkar (18426) and Kumar Sangakkara (14234) have more ODI runs than Kohli.
