Mominul Haque has hit the third-fastest century for Bangladesh in test cricket.

The Bangladesh cricket team played their first-ever test match in the year 2000. They had a slow growth in test cricket.

Over the past decade or so, they have made considerable strides by becoming a formidable team at home. Their biggest achievement as a team came in 2024 when they won a test series in Pakistan for the first time.

The Bangladesh batters have played a part in the 21 test match wins they have registered so far and also in making the side competitive against higher-ranked nations.

In this article, we will look at a special record of the Bangladeshi batters: fastest test centuries.

Top 5 fastest centuries by Bangladesh cricketers in test cricket:

5. Tamim Iqbal – 100 balls vs New Zealand, 2019

In the Hamilton test in 2019, opener Tamim Iqbal cracked 126 runs off 128 balls, having reached his century in 100 balls. His innings included 21 fours and a six. However, no other Bangladeshi batter made a score of significance in that innings and they were bowled out for 234.

Kane Williamson’s double century and hundreds from Tom Latham and Jeet Raval ensured a massive victory for New Zealand by an innings.

4. Tamim Iqbal – 100 balls vs England, 2010

In the Manchester test, Tamim walloped a 100-ball century against England in their 2010 tour of the UK. In reply to England’s 419-run score in the first innings, Iqbal crashed 11 fours and a six in his knock of 108 runs off 114 balls.

However, the visitors were bowled out for 216 and were made to bat again as England enforced the follow-on. The visitors were bundled for 123 in their second innings and lost the match by an innings.

As a youngster, Tamim announced himself to the world with a 100-ball century against England in Manchester.
