5. Romario Shepherd- 14 balls (IPL 2025)

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed in a close-fight encounter in IPL 2025. In the first innings, Romario Shepherd slammed a half-century off just 14 deliveries.

On 8th April 2018, KL Rahul played a breathtaking innings for Kings XI Punjab against Delhi Capitals in Mohali. He scored a stunning 14-ball 50, which is the joint 2nd fastest half-century in IPL history.

Rahul’s innings was characterised by his incredible timing and placement, as he hit 6 fours and 4 sixes to help his team chase down a target of 167.

2. Urvil Patel- 13 balls (IPL 2026)

Playing for Chennai Super Kings, Urvil Patel scripted history in the IPL 2026 by equalling the record for the fastest fifty.

In the 53rd match of the tournament against Lucknow Super Giants on May 10, the wicket-keeper batsman hammered a half-century off just 13 deliveries at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Patel came out to bat at number three as CSK aimed to chase a 204-run target. He slammed boundaries from the first ball itself, reaching his fifty in just 13 deliveries to equal the fastest fifty in IPL history.

On 11th May 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal created history by scoring the fastest fifty in the history of IPL, taking just 13 balls to reach the milestone. Jaiswal achieved this feat while playing for Rajasthan Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata.

His innings was instrumental in helping his team chase down a target of 150, as he demolished the opposition’s bowling attack with his aggressive stroke play. Jaiswal’s blazing knock didn’t end at his half-century, as he continued to bat with the same intensity, remaining unbeaten on 98 off just 44 deliveries, which included 12 fours and 5 sixes.
