Full list of players named for WPL 2024 auction

The Tata WPL 2024 auction will be held on 9th December, 2023 in Mumbai.

The TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL), for its second edition has released a list featuring 165 cricketers who will be up for bidding in the WPL 2024 auction on December 9, 2023, in Mumbai. Among these players, 104 are Indian, while 61 come from overseas, including 15 players from associate nations who will go under the WPL 2024 auction hammer. The auction pool comprises 56 capped players and 109 uncapped players.

With five teams vying for talent, a maximum of 30 slots will be available in the WPL 2024 auction, including 9 spots reserved for overseas players. Notably, the highest reserve price is set at INR 50 Lakhs, featuring two players, Deandra Dottin and Kim Garth, choosing to be part of this top bracket. Additionally, four players have a base price of INR 40 Lakhs.

Across five franchises, a total of 60 players, with 21 of them being overseas cricketers, have been retained ahead of the WPL 2024 auction, while 29 players have been released from their current squads.

As the WPL 2024 auction approaches, Gujarat Giants will go in with the largest available salary cap, boasting Rs. 5.95 crore. In contrast, the defending champions of the WPL, Mumbai Indians, will have the smallest purse among the five franchises, with only 2.1 crores at their disposal.

The WPL 2024 auction promises to be an exciting affair as teams look to build competitive squads with a mix of experienced players and emerging talents. With a focus on both Indian and overseas talent, the event adds an extra layer of anticipation for cricket enthusiasts eager to see how the teams shape up for the upcoming season.
