Harbhajan Singh said that Gary Kirtsen should return to India and work with the senior national team.

Legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh has reacted to Pakistan’s white-ball coach Gary Kirsten’s comments after he questioned unity in Pakistan cricket team following their exit from the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The Babar Azam-led Pakistan had a dismal run at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The Men in Green lost two group A games against co-hosts United States of America and arch rivals India as they finished third in the Group A standings of the T20 World Cup 2024.

After winning their last group stage match against Ireland in Florida on June 16, a fresh report has emerged in the Pakistan media that white-ball head coach Kirsten has lashed out the Pakistan team for a lack of unity. Gary further said that he has worked with many teams but has never seen a bad situation like this.

“There’s no unity in Pakistan’s team. They call it a team, but it isn’t a team. They aren’t supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I’ve worked with many teams, but I’ve never seen such a situation,” Gary Kirsten said.

Notably, Kirsten was the head coach of the Indian cricket team when they lifted the ODI World Cup trophy in 2011. The former South African cricketer worked with the then-MS Dhoni-led side from 2008 to 2011. Interestingly, Harbhajan was also part of that historic squad when Gary helped India lift the coveted trophy.

Reacting to Pakistan white ball head coach Kirsten’s comments, the legendary Indian cricketer Harbhajan urged him to quit as the head coach of the Men in Green.

Harbhajan further made a strong statement that Kirsten should not waste time with Pakistan cricket. The great off-spinner added that he would love to see if Kirsten comes back to India and works with the senior men’s national team.

“Don’t waste ur time there Gary .. Come back to Coach Team INDIA .. Gary Kirsten One of the rare 💎.. A Great Coach ,Mentor, friend to all in the our 2011 Team .. our winning coach of 2011 worldcup . Special man Gary ❤️@Gary_Kirsten,” Harbhajan Singh wrote on X.
